DSYSA Baseball and Softball Mission

DSYSA’s mission is to promote the growth of Baseball and Softball at all levels of competition for the Dripping Springs community.  The development of sportsmanship, teamwork, honesty, courage, respect for authority, and physical fitness are the organization’s priorities.  In order to accomplish this mission, we seek to attain the following objectives:

  • To govern the league in a manner that puts the development of our players, as both athletes and persons, above other considerations.
  • To provide our players with volunteer coaches who work with players of all ability levels and who remember that development of exceptional athletic skills and winning games is secondary to the development of players as people and to providing our players with positive examples and a positive, ethical baseball and softball experience.
  • To provide our players with volunteer coaches who seek to teach those players the rules of the game along with proper baseball fundamentals and excellent sportsmanship.
  • To provide high-quality facilities and equipment for the use of our players.

Lightning Policy - We are Protected by the THOR Guard system

DSYSA has invested in the THOR Guard lightning detection and prediction system to protect our players and their families.

There is a system at the DSYSA Baseball and Softball facility, Founder's park and at the Soccer and HS baseball fields.  All 3 of these systems are tied together and work together. If the Airhorn warning goes off, everyone should retreat to the safety of their vehicles and await the all clear, 3 short horn blasts. If the strobe light is flashing, it is not safe to leave your vehicle.

A DSYSA board member will make the determination of cancellation of play in the event of extended danger.
